El año más extraño para el cine en muchas décadas dejó, sin embargo, un saldo de algunas muy buenas películas. En este contexto la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood anunció este lunes las nominaciones a los Premios Oscar que se entregarán el 25 de abril próximo.

Con Nomadland y Promising Young Woman como favoritas a los premios mayores, la lista de candidaturas arrojó algunas sorpresas tales como Sound of Metal, el film producido por Amazon que se instaló en rubros como Mejor Película y Guión Original.
El gran dejado de lado este año fue Spike Lee, realizador de Da 5 Bloods, film producido por Netflix que entusiasmó a una parte del público al momento de su estreno pero que fue cayendo en consideración ante títulos como Mank (también de Netflix, dirigida por David Fincher) o las antes mencionadas.
Una bienvenida particularidad se da en el rubro Mejor Dirección, que este año incluye a dos realizadorxs de raíz asiática: Chloé Zhao (Nomadland) y Lee Isaac Chung (en rigor, nacido en EEUU, director de Minari).
